As I set sail on the sea, I feel the peace come over me
The sail raises up so high, I’m a part of it all, the earth and sky

Low Cost Airlines

There are specific low-cost International & Local European Airlines that generally offer by far the best prices when used in combination. Of course, you can go ahead and book with a mainstream airline but it is nearly always by far the most cost-effective to book with an International low-cost carrier into a key European hub (like Barcelona, Paris or Amsterdam) and then purchase a separate ongoing connecting flight to Greece via a local European airline. Here’s a few key players to explore…

Getting to the Greek Islands

(to our starting point in Parikia, Paros.)

International Flights

There are now multiple low cost airlines operating from the West Coast USA (Level, FrenchBee, Norwegian, Air Tahiti Nui) which often allow you to get to Europe from SFO or LAX at much lower prices and then pick up a local connecting flight from one of the smaller European airlines. (For example, you could fly Level or Norweigan directly from Oakland to Barcelona or French Bee/AirTahiti to Paris and then connect to Athens or Mykonos on Vueling or Transavia airlines for under $600! if you book in advance).

Flights to Paros from Athens

It’s a 40 minute direct flight from Athens (ATH) to Paros (PAS) and generally costs around 50-75 Euros one way. Both Olympic Air & Sky Express offer multiple flights a day.

Ferries to Paros

If you have additional time, it’s also possible to take a ferry to Paros from Athens, Naxos, Santorini or Mykonos for 25-35 Euros. Seajets, Golden Star Ferries, Blue Star Ferries & Minoan Lines all serve the area.

Travel Insurance, Changeable & Refundable Flights

• We strongly recommend you take out your own travel insurance to mitigate any unexpected problems.

• Flights can be disrupted in and out of the islands and ongoing connecting flights, so it’s always ideal to have a changeable or refundable ticket.

• In the unlikely event of advance cancellation due to adverse weather or circumstances beyond our control, your event ticket will be fully refunded.

Packing Tips for a Yacht Trip …

We highly recommend you pack light with soft -sided carry-on only. Yachts have minimal storage space and you don’t need much in terms of clothing for the week so full-size luggage will not only crowd your space but be unwieldy to lug around. We recommend the Eagle Creek Expanse International Carry-On. Small enough for all overhead bins & meets International Carry On requirements plus can hold 2 laptops & all required clothing & gear for a week at sea. We’ll post more about packing on our Facebook Tribe Page which we invite our ticket-holders to in order to share detailed adventure info and answer any questions.

The weather in the Cyclades has that beautiful warm Mediterranean climate in the 65-80 F range and most of the day in the mid 70's,

https://www.holiday-weather.com/mykonos/averages/

We recommend using packing cubes and packing efficiently and light since onboard, cabin space is at a premium and European airlines tend to charge outrageous rates for excess weight and checked luggage.

Money in Greece …

The Greeks are negotiators and not everywhere takes credit cards, so we highly recommend carrying around Euros in the event you need to take a Taxi or grab a local snack or souvenir.
